The lost train tracks
Train tracks
going nowhere
(Culver City)

Once upon a time LA people used a network of railroads and electric streetcars as means of travel. then came the times when the trains had to yield and give right of way to crossing traffic! The railroads were paved over during the 50's. They are gone now. They slowly vanished from life in LA as we know it....
But all over the city, there are remainings of those railroads. For some reason pieces of those train tracks were left all over the city and they are definitely going nowhere...

The tracks which can be found around Los Angeles are part of the Balloon Route (established in 1901 by the Pacific Electric Railway) and they go from downtown through Hollywood, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Redondo Beach and back to LA via Culver City.
